In-store retail displays that look built in
Inside the store, the screen's job is to finish what the window started. We install Samsung QM-series 4K panels at the cash wrap, on feature walls and on ceiling brackets, and we fit them to your millwork so they read as part of the store, not a TV someone hung later.

Where in-store screens earn their spot
| Position | What usually works | Real example |
|---|---|---|
| Cash wrap | One 55" landscape, wall-mounted behind the counter | L'Occitane pairs it with the window screen in every boutique |
| Feature or brand wall | 2×2 wall or a single 85" to 98" | LeSportsac SoHo: one 98" QM98C, framed in custom millwork |
| Ceiling-hung, over fixtures | 55" on ceiling brackets, often two facing the entry | Janie and Jack: four QM55C per store, ceiling and recessed mounts |
| Endcap or table | 32" to 43", portrait, product-specific loop | Priced from $2,950 (32") on our ladder |
| Fitting room / lounge | 43" to 55", quieter content, lower brightness | Victoria's Secret Fifth Avenue: portrait screens at the bar and VIP lounge |
The window-plus-wrap pairing
The single most useful thing we learned on L'Occitane's 150+ boutiques: pair the screens. A window panel facing out, a cash-wrap or feature-wall panel facing in, both on the same campaign. Someone who noticed the window walks in expecting continuity, and the screen at the register delivers it. We'd take two paired screens over four random ones.
Janie and Jack took the same idea further. Two OM55B windows and four QM55C interior screens per store all run from one media player, so the entire store changes creative in the same frame. Customers notice that.
Built into the millwork
At LeSportsac's Greene Street flagship the 98-inch QM98C hangs inside custom wood framing that our crew cut and hand-painted on site in the brand's exact white. The whole job, framing included, was done after hours in one session. The store opened the next morning with no lost selling hours.

Mistakes we see on in-store screens
No network drop. The wall has power but no ethernet, and nobody finds out until install day. We ask for it on the scope call. If it's missing, the CrownTV player runs on Wi-Fi and caches content locally so a dropped connection doesn't black out the screen.
Too big for the room. An 85-inch over a 12-foot cash wrap looks like a sports bar. In most boutiques a 55-inch is right, and it saves $2,400 per screen against the 85.
Landscape art in a portrait screen. Plan the orientation before the creative team builds the campaign.

Common questions
In-store display questions
What size screen goes behind a cash wrap?
Usually a 55-inch. It reads from the queue and doesn't crowd the shelving. A 43-inch works on a narrow wrap; go 75 or 85 only if the wall is the store's main visual. Installed prices: 43-inch $3,150, 55-inch $3,450, 75-inch $4,950.
Can the in-store screens show the same thing as the window at the same moment?
Yes. Janie and Jack runs one CrownTV player per store through an HDMI splitter, so the two window screens and four interior screens get an identical 4K signal. Nothing to drift, nothing to resync.
Can I use regular TVs for retail digital signage?
You can, but for a screen that runs 10 or more hours a day we wouldn't, because consumer TVs aren't rated for commercial hours, their warranty doesn't cover a store, and in a window a 350-nit TV washes out into a gray rectangle at noon. A Samsung QM-series panel is built for long commercial duty, has no buttons or logo on the front and carries a 3-year commercial warranty. If you already own commercial screens, the CrownTV Dashboard runs on them for $20 per screen per month.
What are the requirements for retail digital signage?
Each screen needs a power outlet where it hangs, a network connection (an ethernet drop is best, Wi-Fi works), a wall or ceiling that can hold the mount and, in a mall, landlord sign-off on how the screen is fixed, which floor stands usually make simple. The display, mount, media player and software come with our per-screen price. We make the clean power connection but don't run new high-voltage circuits, and the CrownTV player caches content so a dropped connection doesn't black out the screen.
What's the difference between retail signage and digital signage?
Printed retail signage has to be designed, printed, shipped and hung by hand in every store each time the campaign changes, while digital signage shows the campaign on screens that update from one login, so a chain can switch every store at once and run local promos without reprinting anything. Print still wins for a sign that never changes, like permanent wayfinding. Digital pays off when campaigns change monthly or you run more than a handful of stores; Janie and Jack switches the windows in 115+ stores at the same moment from headquarters.
Does digital signage work in a convenience store?
Yes, and a convenience store usually needs only two or three screens: a sun-readable window screen for the week's deals, from $3,850 installed, a screen above the counter for coffee, food or lottery promos, and a menu board if there's a hot food or deli counter. The counter screen is normally a 43 or 55-inch indoor panel, $3,150 to $3,450 installed with the player and year-one software. Pump-top and forecourt screens are outdoor-rated hardware and are quoted per site. CrownTV's convenience and gas page has more.
How is digital signage used in a grocery store?
Grocery stores put screens where shoppers stop: produce and aisle endcaps for specials, the deli or meat counter for cuts and prices, the checkout lanes for loyalty sign-ups and a sun-readable panel in the storefront window, all scheduled by department from one Dashboard. Pomegranate, a specialty grocer we installed, runs window panels and in-store endcap screens on CrownTV. Chains add per-store permissions so a department manager can't overwrite the corporate campaign. More on CrownTV's grocery page.
Can you build the screen into our millwork?
Yes. At LeSportsac SoHo we built custom wood framing around the 98-inch display, cut and painted on site in the brand's white. At Janie and Jack the QM55C panels sit in recessed wall mounts designed with the store's millwork program.
How do fitting-room or endcap screens get content?
Same Dashboard, different zone. Each screen or group of screens is its own playback target, so a fitting-room screen can loop styling content while the cash wrap shows the promotion. You schedule both from one login.
