Storefront window digital signage, installed behind the glass
A window screen has about three to six seconds to stop someone walking past. It only gets those seconds if it's readable at noon. We hang Samsung OM-series panels rated at 3,000+ nits, on floor stands or cable mounts, and run them from the same Dashboard as the rest of the store.

Why consumer TVs fail in store windows
We pull consumer TVs out of storefronts every year. They fail the same two ways. First, brightness: a living-room TV runs around 350 nits, and behind glass at midday it's unreadable from across the sidewalk. Second, heat: a sun-facing window cooks a panel that was built for a living room, and the warranty is void the moment it's used commercially.
A Samsung OM55B is about ten times brighter and built to face the street. It costs more on day one. It also doesn't need to be replaced in year two, which is the comparison that matters.
Three windows we've done, three different mounts
Janie and Jack, 115+ mall stores. Two portrait OM55B panels per storefront on floor-mounted stands sized to each window's depth. No fixings into the storefront meant mall lease teams signed off on first review. After the first wave we standardized on three stand depths, which covered every window in the chain.
CBD Kratom, 55+ street stores. One portrait OM55B per window, cable-mounted with a custom back cover so the street side looks finished. The kit was identical everywhere, so we skipped pre-install site surveys and finished the whole fleet in under 10 days.
LeSportsac, SoHo flagship. Two OM55B panels on a cable-suspension system in the cast-iron facade windows on Greene Street, done in one after-hours session alongside a 98-inch display inside.

Our opinion: if your window only gets shade, you still want the high-brightness panel. Glass reflects the street, and a 500-nit indoor screen behind it looks dim even on a cloudy day. CBD Kratom put the same panel in every store, shaded or not, and it removed a whole category of decisions from the rollout.

What to put on a window screen
Short loops. A passer-by gives you a few seconds, so one product and one line of text per slide beats a 30-second brand film. Cut the campaign art for a portrait window instead of cropping the website banner; a landscape banner squeezed into a portrait panel is the most common mistake we see on day one.
Schedule it, too. Janie and Jack publishes one campaign from headquarters and every storefront in 115+ stores switches at the same moment. A single store can run a local sale in the window while the cash wrap stays on the national campaign.

Common questions
Storefront window screen questions
How bright does a storefront window screen need to be?
At least 2,500 nits, and 3,000+ if the glass gets afternoon sun. A consumer TV is around 350 nits and turns into a gray rectangle behind glass at noon. Every window we install uses a Samsung OM-series panel for this reason.
How much does storefront digital signage cost?
Storefront digital signage costs $3,850 to $4,200 per screen installed for a 46 or 55-inch high-brightness Samsung panel and $13,500 to $14,000 for a 75-inch, with the display, mount, CrownTV media player, install, training and the first year of software all inside that one number. A store with two portrait windows is $7,700 to $8,400. Prices set October 14, 2026.
Do I need to drill into the storefront?
Usually not. We use floor stands (Janie and Jack) or cable-suspension mounts that reference the millwork rather than the glazing (CBD Kratom, LeSportsac). That keeps mall lease teams and building managers out of the approval chain in most cases.
Portrait or landscape for a window?
Portrait, nine times out of ten. Storefront bays are taller than they are wide, and a portrait 55-inch fills the bay without blocking the merchandise behind it. CBD Kratom, Lee and Janie and Jack all run portrait windows.
Does the screen overheat in a sunny window?
A commercial window panel won't. The OM-series is built for window-facing duty with its own heat management. The consumer TVs we pull out of windows usually fail from heat, which is why we don't install them there.
